Catalog Description:
Considers the relationship between sports and society. Focuses on how sports shape cultural ideas of masculinity and femininity. Examines how assumptions about professional and amateur athletes reflect and challenge social norms about gender, sexuality, race, and class. Other topics include student athletes, the business of sport, and non-normative athletic bodies. Offered: AWSpS.
