THIS COURSE EXAMINES CENTRAL THEMES
AND QUESTIONS IN FEMINIST DECOLONIA
THEORY AND POLITICS INCLUDING THE
FOLLOWING: WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN COLONIALISM, IMPERIALISM,
AND OCCUPATION (BOTH HISTORICAL
AND CONTEMPORARY) TO RACIAL, GENDER
AND SEXUAL HIERARCHIES?
HOW HAVE STRUGGLES FOR GENDER,
RACIAL, INDIGENOUS, CASTE, AND
SEXUAL JUSTICE CHALLENGED THESE
HIERARCHIES? WHAT ARE DECOLONIAL
FEMINIST APPROACHES TO METHODOLOGY,
EPISTEMOLOGY, AND PEDAGOGY? WHAT
ALTERNATIVE MODELS OF STATE, FAMILY
AND ECONOMICS HAVE EMERGED IN
DECOLONIAL STRUGGLES? THROUGHOUT
THE COURSE, WE WILL EXAMINE THE
INTERPLAY OF GENDER, RACE, CLASS,
SEXUALITY, AND NATIONALITY IN
RELATION TO THESE QUESTIONS.
