Come to meet Afro-Ecuadorian hip hop artist Black Mama and her fellow Ecuadorian feminista Hip Hop artists, Caye Cayejera, Taki Amaru, and Gabriela Gomez to dialogue about the ways they use the transformative power of Hip Hop art and music to create community, joy, and resistance urgently needed to heal a world damaged by violence against women, the exploitation of ancestral land and displacement of ancestral communities, state policies that harm asylum seekers and i
mmigrants around the world, and the persecution of queer and transgender communities.

Feminista Futurisms: Afro-Indigenous Muxeres in Hip Hop
Ana Gabriela Cano “aka” Black Mama, Caye Cayejera, and Taki Amaru, will share how hip-hop culture bridges Black Diaspora communities across the Americas, elevating womxn’s voices from Afro-Latino and Afro-Indigenous communities as they support the “Vivas Nos Queremos/We want us alive,” a translocal movement that responds to daily practices of femicide, the murder of women with impunity.
