Tylir McKenzie is currently a tenure-track professor teaching psychology at Highline College. In addition to teaching, Tylir has been keeping busy as the co-chair of the LGBTQIA task force, Q Center Faculty Advisor, Assessment Committee Social Sciences Representative, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) Chair. They are currently working on research which focuses on self-reflective pedagogy in the undergraduate psychology classroom, and how instructor identity influences the college classroom. As a faculty advisor, they also have the privilege of helping students on their paths towards four-year transfer programs, many of whom have applied to UW and beyond.
